A number of beardy, williamsburgy white guys have put out indie-tinged bedroom R&B albums in the last few years. Cerulean, by Baths, is probably the best one I’ve heard. The song (and video) ‘Lovely Bloodflow’ is especially good. Spotify.

Congotronics re-imagined. Indie and alternative bands play with, cover, re-mix and ponder Konono No1. It’s an incredible album, much better than most compilations and tributes. There’s a lot of really inspired material here. Includes Deerhoof, Animal Collective, Tussle, Juana Molina, and a ton of others.
Looks like James Joyce’s Ulysses has gone into the public domain! That gives me an excuse to post some music I recorded a while back. It’s called James Joyce.
